A joy of my life is not only writing and recording my own music, but collaborating with other worship leaders and churches to help them discover their sound and heart cry in worship. I am a firm believer that heartfelt collaboration brings out the best.
SMITH & Rouse
Smith & Rouse (https://linktr.ee/smithandrouse) is a songwriting and worship-leading partnership between myself and Krista Rouse. Krista and her amazing family are from the Traverse City, MI area and we met through Invasion and Mark Barclay Ministries conferences. We travel as part of the worship team for these conferences (Krista’s husband Delbert is and incredible bass player and on the team too). Smith & Rouse is much more than a Josh and Krista thing - God has connected our entire families in a very special way that we are very grateful for.
Revival embers
In 2017 I co-founded a collective of worship leaders and songwriters called Revival Embers (www.revivalembers.com). RE writes and releases songs to shepherd and lead our local churches in worship.
In 2017 we released an album entitled “Renewal Worship Community” that combined the songs and sounds of 2 churches separated by 1,000 miles geographically (Community Faith Church in Michigan and Renewal Church in Tennessee), but knit together by the language of worship through the songs they were writing and singing.
